Love is Patient, Love is Kind

(prelude: Abbie is Ryan (Ry Guy) Webster's sister, who is married to Ryan Huffman, aka Huffdawg)

I know, I know, it's been awhile since my last post. What can I say, this girl is bu-sy! There has been a lot going on since the last time I checked in... like Abbie & Ryan getting MARRIED! They both knew very early on in their relationship that their love would last so it was no surprise this day had come. Everything is always surrounded by the wedding -- the dress, the cake, the flowers; but what is the forefront of all of these wedding festivities is the marriage. Two people who are absolutely perfect for one another found their other half. I am soooo happy for these two and I wish only the best for them. Don't get me wrong though, the wedding was a blast and the bride looked flawless! I was honored to be a part of Abbie & Ryan's special day by reading a scripture at the ceremony. I was glad to have read this before A&R spoke their own vows because that's when the waterworks kicked in. I couldn't help but to shed a happy tear when I heard them say such sweet and powerful words to each other. It was a blissful day. After the ceremony, the reception took over the Bell Event Center where friends and family celebrated the night away. I met lots of Ry Guy's out-of-town extended family who I have heard so much about. We all had so much fun -- dinner was delicious & dancing was done. A truly great night. I have ONE picture to share from the wedding from the fabulous photographer, Jessica Love. Her work is ah-mazing. Just look at this...

Perfection.

...and become her fan here Jessica Love Photography.

On another celebratory note, my birthday was yesterday! I turned the big 2-7 so I suppose I am officially in my "upper twenties." Scary. I had a great day and my Ry Guy McFly Guy made it so special. I opened my first gift in the morning. This awesome necklace from Anthropologie.

I just love it! I had a similar one saved to my favorites for months & this guy figured it out. Hints girls, leave hints! At lunch, we met at my apartment where I received gift numero dos.

How awesome is this watch? And it is SO me. Ry Guy said I'll be stylish even when working out. Gotta love him. After I came home from work & prepped for the evening, I opened this gift.

I absolutely LOVE it! It’s perfect for weekend trips when I go to my vacation home, aka, Ry Guy’s Palatial Estate. He must have caught on to me complaining about my ghetto VS free tote bag. I must say after these three gifts, the boy knows me well. To top all of that off, he took us to Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse downtown. The atmosphere was fun and lively and the food was delicious… going down. I don’t know what it is about Ruby’s, but the past two times I’ve been, I’ve gotten sick. So sick to the point where I’m up all night and can’t go to work the next day. Needless to say, I won’t be going back there for awhile! Not trying to scare anyone off from Jeff Ruby’s though – best steaks in town!

So there was a recap of the exciting events in my life these past couple of weeks. I'll be sure to catch up with you again soon!

Until next time…

Spring is here!

Soo I am well aware that it has been over a week since Easter and nearly two since my last post, but don't you worry, I'm back! I'd like to use the excuse that I've been waiting for my cousin to send me her pics since my camera battery charger is stuck in Atlanta, but then I'd just be full of excuses. Anywayyyy, as mentioned way back, I went to Cleveland for Easter. It was so great to hang out with my cousin, her husband, and their kiddos.

We had a great time over the short weekend I was there to visit. We took the kids to see the Easter bunny, had dinner with most of the extended family, and prepared for Easter. Liz pulled out all of the stops -- bringing out the fine china for Easter, adding cute little bunny S&P shakers, and even making her own napkin rings. I mean, even the butter was shaped like a lamb. Nothing less than perfect at this house! I even ironed the table cloth. I barely iron my clothes for work, let alone a table cloth. Then again, I would need to own a table cloth.

It was so great to see the fam again. I'm sure going to miss these cute faces!

Alas, after four hours of driving in the pouring rain I made it back home to Cincinnati to this surprise...

a sweet Easter card and this cute little plant that I've already managed to kill. Whoops.

Last weekend Ry Guy and I went to our first Reds game of the season. We were grateful that of all days it decided not to rain, it was Saturday. Ryan's good friend and cousin and her fiance had a grill out at their house before the game.  I had a great time spending time and getting to know Ryan's very close knit group of friends a little bit better. To end a fantastic night -- the Redlegs pulled out a W in extra innings!

Until next time...

Easter & Earrings

My good friend, Liz, made a bold move last year. She quit her corporate job and started her own boutique, Monkee's of Madeira. If you haven't been, you must go! She has the most adorable dresses, shoes, and my fav, accessories! Monkee's is just a few minutes from work, so I have a tendency to stop in on my lunch break and rarely leave empty handed. The last time I did leave with nothing in hand, I could not stop thinking about these...

So I went back in today to get them. I don't know yet what I will wear them with, but I'm sure I'll find something :)

On another note, I'm going to Cleveland this weekend for Easter. My mom's side of the family -- aunts, uncles, and cousins all live in the Cleve so I try to make it up there a few times a year. Note; going to Cleveland in the winter is just not pleasant. So I call this my "spring trip." My only female cousin, Liz, (not the same Liz mentioned above) and I are super close. We talk almost every day and I miss her sooo much! I can't wait to spend the weekend with her, her hubs, and the two cutest babies in the whole world. I've made them these Easter baskets but it's doubtful I'll be able to hold out until Easter to give it to them!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Until next time...

Weekend Update

Another weekend ends, another Monday comes too soon. I try to make the most of my time starting the second I leave work on Friday until I crash into bed Sunday night.  Friday night Ryan and I tried out a new restaurant downtown, Ruby's Walnut Street Grill. This restaurant is not a typical Jeff Ruby steak house, rather an upscale diner. Here, chicken pot pie is the specialty, not the bone-in rib eye. The menu had a wide variety and what we tried lived up to the Ruby standard. Not to mention, the atmosphere was great and so were the prices. We will definitely be back! Afterward dinner, Ryan and I grabbed a drink at Mainstay. For some reason though, this bar was not hitting the spot for either of us. We were quickly on our way home to call it an early Friday night.

Saturday was a bit of a gloomy day in Cincinnati. I absolutely love the spring and summer months -- trying to be outside as much as possible. But since "April Showers" have been more frequent than not, I was indoors. Indoor at a nail salon and Kenwood Mall, so no complaints here! Ryan's mom and sister invited me to join them getting manis/pedis and then I roamed around Kenwood purchasing a few things and only on sale, of course. That night, Ryan and I went to Teak with my close friends and their husbands. It's not easy to mesh schedules with everyone, so when we all get together it's truly valued.

Ryan and I

We experienced the best weather of the weekend on Sunday. Unfortunately, Sundays are always left to run errands and prepare for the work week ahead. Once all of the boring grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc was done Ryan and I spent some QT together. We went for a walk around his neighborhood and grilled out together. It really does not matter what we are doing, as long as we're together we have a great time. How cheesy does that sound? Wow. Oh well, I don't care -- it's true. Anyway, we wrapped up the weekend with this delicious dinner...

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Until next time...

My First Post

After a few years of reading friends, friends of friends, and friends of their friends' blogs, I have decided to start my own blog. I always thought that my life would not be exciting enough to blog about. I'm not a socialite, I'm not married, and I don't have kids... So what else is there? Well, there is me and my surprisingly exciting life full of a crazy busy job, fabulous friends, and sweetest boyfriend a girl could ask for.

So there it is. My first post that has taken over a month to actually create. I'm not sure why it was so scary to start, but now that that this blog is in action, you'll be seeing much more from me.

Until next time...
